UDGN Design Lab
Five weeks. Six pieces. One cohesive collection direction
A 5-Week Intensive Fashion Design Fundamentals Programme

The UDGN Design Lab is an intensive five-week programme for emerging fashion designers and fashion entrepreneurs who want to strengthen their understanding of the fundamentals behind designing a cohesive fashion collection.

A strong collection begins long before production. It starts with understanding your concept, customer, research, design language, colour, fabric, silhouette, fit, proportion and how individual garments work together as one body of work.

Through live teaching, practical design exercises and professional feedback, designers will learn how to move from an initial idea and creative research into a clear collection direction.

Over five weeks, you will apply these principles to your own work, developing and presenting a cohesive six-piece capsule collection in design/sketch form.

The programme is open to designers globally and is led by Tare Isaac, fashion designer and Founder & Creative Director of Unity in Design Global Network (UDGN).

How The Lab Works
The UDGN Design Lab is an active learning and design-development programme, not a passive series of online lectures.

Each week combines structured teaching with practical application:

Learn → Explore → Design → Develop → Refine

Designers learn the principles behind collection design, explore those principles through their own creative ideas and progressively apply their learning to a six-piece collection direction.

Your programme includes:
-
Five weeks of structured fashion design education
-
Live online sessions
-
Practical weekly design exercises
-
Fashion and collection case studies
-
Creative direction from Tare Isaac
-
Live feedback and design review
-
Individual feedback on your collection direction
-
Design and collection-development resources
-
Final six-piece collection presentation
-
Final feedback and next-step development roadmap

The goal is not simply to leave with six sketches. It is to understand why those six designs belong together.
