  UDGN REMOTE RESIDENCY PLACEMENT

Creating Pathways. Bridging Gaps.

The UDGN Remote Industry Residency Programme is a 4–6 week digital mentorship and project-based experience designed to connect emerging Black and minority ethnic designers with leading fashion, media, and creative industry brands.

Through  real life Industry placement and weekly one-hour check-ins with an assigned industry mentor, participants work on a real creative or editorial brief, gaining hands-on experience, professional feedback, and portfolio-ready outcomes.

The programme is fully administered by the UDGN Impact Arm and is free of charge to all selected participants.
Our goal is to bridge access gaps, create meaningful industry exposure, and support designers as they build stronger creative identities and globally relevant portfolios  all from anywhere in the world.

Before joining UDGN, I had only seen the fashion industry from the outside. Through my six-week placement with I.DEA PR, I stepped into a real working environment and supported the team during Fashion Week. As a young Black woman entering the industry, access and opportunity mean everything. This internship has shown me that I belong in this space and has given me the confidence to take my career seriously.
